Sunday, April 26, 5:00 pm In 1965, the Taiwan government founded a summer educational program for offshore Chinese teens and young adults. The program became known as “the love boat” for its partying and hookups. For North American parents, this development was not unwelcome, for it introduced their progeny to a large pool of prospective Chinese marriage partners. A one-time participant herself, Soe interviews a host of administrators and former loveboaters. In English, French, and Mandarin with English subtitles. DCP digital. (BS)
