Follow the director Crystal Kwok as she unpacks her family's history as the neighborhood grocery store owners in a Black community in Augusta, Georgia during the Jim Crow era, exploring the shared histories during a time where racism is mostly recognized as being Black and White. What was life like for the Chinese during segregation of the 1930’s? As Black-Asian tension and Anti-Asian Sentiments continue today, this documentary helps us understand the histories of both communities and serves to disrupt racial narratives and bridge divides.
